There have been no new cases of COVID-19 reported in New Zealand for the second consecutive day.
No further deaths have been reported and there are now just four people with the virus in hospital, none of them in intensive care and none in the Southern District Health Board region.
New Zealand’s total number of confirmed and probable cases has declined by one, to 1486, after one probable case was reclassified as not a case. Of those cases, 1302 (88%) are reported as recovered – an increase of 26 on yesterday.
New Zealand’s total number of confirmed cases remains at 1137.
Figures for the SDHB are remain unchanged with nine active cases remaining from the total of 216 reported.
Testing continues, with 3232 tests completed yesterday, contributing to a combined total to date of 155,928.
The World Health Organisation situation report shows the number of confirmed cases reported worldwide increased by 86,108 in the previous 24 hours to 3,435,894. There have been 239,604 deaths attributed to COVID-19, up 976 on yesterday’s figures.
