Her Excellency, the Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy, Governor-General of New Zealand, will visit the Southland Charity Hospital site on Tuesday (February 16).

The visit forms part of Her Excellency’s regional visit to Southland.

Southland Charity Hospital general manager Helen Robinson said the visit was an excellent opportunity to showcase the work that had been achieved to date on the hospital and to highlight the generosity of people both locally and nationally who had made it possible.

"The Southland Charity Hospital is delighted to have the opportunity to visit with the Governor-General at the hospital site and to share with her the vision for the hospital and the board," she said. 

"We look forward to sharing with Dame Patsy the fantastic fundraising efforts of the Southland and Otago communities and how incredible our volunteers' ongoing support has been. We would not have managed to reach the halfway mark without their hard work, generosity and kindness, and we are forever grateful."
