A new Sunday market is planned to open at the Ascot Park Racecourse in Invercargill.
The Ascot Park Racecourse Sunday Market will begin operating from Sunday 13 March.
Spokesperson, Peter Kett, says, “a new committee has been formed and 25 stallholders are already confirmed at this early stage. There has been a lot of interest and plenty of comments that it will be great to have a market re-established at the racecourse.”
“The racecourse is a wonderful venue,” says Kett.
“There is parking for 500 cars, ample toilets, a great outdoor village green type of setting with gazebo’s, tables, chairs and music for the better days and when the weather is not the best there is the option of two large indoor areas - one for a food court and the other for crafts."
"For over 18 months another market has operated very successfully at the racecourse."
"We will have a limit of 45 stalls each week and with interest already high we are encouraging expressions of interest from stallholders and vendors keen to be a part of this exciting new market.”
