Invercargill city councillors will now be briefed on Thursday (November 5) about an independent report that evaluates the standard of governance at the ICC.
The extraordinary meeting was originally scheduled for October 30 but was postponed due to a family bereavement.
It will now be held on Thursday morning at 9am.

In August, the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) requested an independent evaluation to assess the standard of governance at council following media reports of “significant conflict” among elected representatives and the chief executive.
The DIA also requested a summary of the key issues and a “clear plan” demonstrating how the council plans to address the issues, including a framework for measuring success to be presented within the report.
Richard Thomson, of Dunedin, was appointed as the independent evaluator. With the help of the council’s independent governance advisor Bruce Robertson, Mr Thomson has spent the past few months interviewing ICC elected representatives and gathering information about the standard of governance at the council to prepare the report for councillors and the DIA.

Mr Thomson and Mr Robertson will provide a briefing of the report to councillors at the meeting.
Although the new agenda has not yet been made available, it is likely that the report will be discussed in public excluded.
