A new adult mental health day centre, Kā Whetū Ora, will open in Invercargill on Tuesday, 10 September.

The centre is run by Ngā Kete Mātauranga Pounamu Charitable Trust, a local organisation that provides health and social services with a strong focus on Māori values and community wellbeing.

Located at 21 Earnslaw Street, Kā Whetū Ora will offer a safe and supportive space for people aged 18 and over to improve their mental health through peer-led activities.

Programmes are based on the Te Whare Tapa Whā model, covering mental strength, connection, life skills, and creative expression.

Self-referrals are welcome, and the service is shaped by the needs of its participants, supported by a team with lived experience.
