A large fire has destroyed The Mossburn Diner this evening.
Fire and Emergency began receiving multiple calls just before 8.30pm. Shift manager Lyn Crosson said crews were in attendance within five minutes of the first calls "but it was obviously already past saving, even then."
Fire crews from Mossburn, Lumsden, Balfour and Dipton are currently at the scene with a crew from Riversdale also on the way.
Ms Crosson said the fire is contained but the building has suffered extensive damage. Firefighters are still in the process of totally extinguishing the fire.
Everyone in the building was out by the time the Fire and Emergency crews arrived and all have been accounted for. Two people had suffered very minor smoke inhalation.
The Mossburn Diner is located in Devon Street, the main highway running through the town.
