It'll be molten hot this Saturday night (24 Aug) when Fiordland's fashion folk strut their stuff as part of Fiordland Art's 'Metal Madness' Wearable Arts Show.

Now into its third year, this year's show will see entrants embracing a metallic theme over three categories - Molten, Bra/Crop Top and Open.

Event coordinator Angela James said tomorrow night's audience could expect to see a runway of full-length wearable creations that not only had a metal content but also include lots of bright colours.

"Think hot things and burning things, and cool things because metal is cool as well."

"Metals can [also] be molded and created together to form a wearable shape."

"The madness is all in the creativity," James said.

James said creators had been inspired by many things.

"It's everything from fantasy right through to telling a personal story."

Each creator had also handpicked their own piece of music to go with their garment, James said.

The show will also see a fashion parade by Kiwi Country and students from Jane Gilder Bespoke, as well as entertainment from the Mossburn Hip Hop group, Fiordland Aerobics and Fiordland Junior Choir.
