Celebrating Southland Schools

This term Mataura School has been a buzz with activity.
We have had Cross Country, a whole school trip to the Gore Pioneer Museum, weekly plays or presentations from places like the Duffy Theatre and the NZ Playhouse.

Learning opportunities for small groups like the Waiata Workshop and Nicollo Picollo and this week the whole school took part in the 'Freeze Ya Bits Off Busking Competition' in Gore.

The 'Freeze Ya Bits Off Busking Competition' has been a favourite in our school for many years and our students take great pride in wearing there 'country attire', singing country songs and doing line dancing!

We are very proud of all the hard work our students put in this year securing second place in the competition and we will continue to participate in this event for many years to come!

We are very excited for what the rest of the term is going to bring including more great learning opportunities, the school Matariki Bonfire and our end of term excursion!
