Management Accountant
Fiordland Lobster Company is dedicated to the sustainable fishing and live export of wild-caught Southern Rock Lobster (New Zealand crayfish). Nearly 30 years after its initial creation, Fiordland Lobster Company remains an outstanding exporter of high-quality lobster.
We are looking for an energetic team member to join our team located in our Te Anau offices to support both our New Zealand and Australian operations.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and working alongside both the Finance and Administration Teams, this is a newly created role which offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge.
The role will consist of, but not be limited to;
- Month End Processing tasks and management of accurate financial information recorded in the accounting system
- Preparing monthly analysis reports for divisional managers
- Preparation and filing of statutory requirements, such as GST and FBT returns
- Completion of balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and lodge statistical surveys when required
- Prepare fixed asset reporting vs budget and maintain fixed asset register
- Assist with preparing the annual budgets
- Assist in the preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and the annual external audit process
- Support the administration team and provide back-up when required for tasks such as processing creditor invoices and bank reconciliations
Requirements
- Strong Management accounting competencies, including technical and analytical skills, with proven understanding of business budgeting and taxation requirements
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with the ability to support fellow team members, and managers from the wider business
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, with a willingness to learn and administrate new systems
This is a permanent full time role based at our Te Anau offices.
