A man is in a critical condition after a firearms incident in Invercargill, late last night (30 Jul).

Emergency services were called to Mavora Crescent, Heidelberg, shortly before midnight.

A man was subsquently transported to hospital in critical condition.

Police said inquiries into the circumstances of the incident were ongoing, and they would like to hear from anyone who might have helpful information to share.
