There’s just a day to go until the Eastern Southland Gallery’s fundraising party and auction evening, to raise funds for the completion of the East Gore Art Centre.
The fundraising event will be held at the Maruawai Centre, 7 Norfolk Street, Gore, with the party kicks off at 7.30pm on Friday.
“If you haven’t got your tickets, now is the time to get them,” gallery programmes manager Marcella Geddes said.

The selection of art for auction includes work by Marilynn Webb, Fane Flaws, Jo Ogier, Robert Ellis, Denys Watkins and Carole Shepheard.
Tickets include refreshments, book packages and a special guest appearance from the Bard of Christchurch, Steve Thomas.
The auction will be followed by an open day at the East Gore Art Centre on Saturday from 1pm to 4pm.
District curator Jim Geddes will take regular tours of the art centre, while Dunedin printmaker Inge Doesberg and Southland artist Jacqui Byars will give printmaking demonstrations.
Dick Frizzell’s ‘Old Hokonui’ lithographs and other art works will be available for sale. There will be a gift basket raffle and afternoon tea in the artist’s flat.
“This is an opportunity for the general public to come along and see the completed artist flat, nearly finished studios and hear about the future plans for the facility. Admission to this event is free,’’ Mrs Geddes said.
