UPDATE: 5.44PM, FIRE NOW OUT

A hedge fire, which is threatening a building, is currently being fought by multiple fire brigades at Waipango, on the outskirts of Riverton.

Emergency services were alerted at 12.24pm today (17 Mar).

Brigades from Riverton, Otautau, Thornbury, Wallacetown and units from Invercargill station are in attendance.
