Jubilee Budget Advisory Service is all about empowering people to manage their finances, not just working out a weekly budget.
It is about having someone listen and engage in their story, without judgement, ensuring they have what they need to make financial decisions that will improve their lives not just for now but forever.
It is about offering hope to people so they can take control.
Jubilee SuperGrans workshop
Jubilee Budge Advisory Service manager Sharon Soper says there are a range of free services available for people at all ages and stages of life.
“People can self-refer but we also have a lot of referrals from family and friends,’’ she says.
“You just need to ring and book in.”
Whether your life has unexpectedly changed, you’re at risk of having your electricity cut off, or just finding it a weekly struggle to make ends meet, staff can offer assistance through one-on-one mentoring or group workshops and where necessary, enlist the help of other agencies to ensure each person gets the best assistance possible.
The newest service to be offered is the Jubilee SuperGrans – workshops aimed at teaching people life skills including cooking, parenting tips, gardening, home repairs, vehicle maintenance, handicrafts and sewing.
Workshops are tailored to clients’ interests. There are also SuperGran coffee mornings.
The concept is based around Kaitiaki – the sharing of generational knowledge to help communities thrive.
Whether you or you know someone who could do with some assistance, then talk to the team at Jubilee Budget Advisory Service a free and confidential service for the people of Southland.
