Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) is a Charitable Trust and is the largest social service and aged care provider in Southland.

PSS encompasses two service arms – Family Works, which offers a range of social services, from counselling and social work support, through to buddy and parenting programmes, and Enliven, which provides services for the older generation.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen in the Te Anau area for a part time permanent Family Whanau Worker to join our team and assist with the delivery of some of the services we provide for families.

Strong relationship-building skills are an integral part of this role, as you will work closely alongside families, as well as with referring agencies and local service providers.

Conflict resolution, problem-solving and excellent communication skills are also required.

Preferred applicants will have:

• An appropriate qualification in social services, health, education or a related field. We may also consider applicants close to completing a qualification.
• Experience and passion for working with children, young people, and families.
• The commitment to providing services in the spirit of the Treaty of Waitangi.
• A current full clean New Zealand driver’s licence, as well as reliable transport
