Invercargill will get a special taste of Irish culture on Tuesday night with A Taste Of Ireland visiting the city for the very first time.
The show, which is also touring New Zealand for the first time, brings together close to 20 performers and explores a series of "magical tales spanning generations of Irish storytelling and culture" told through Irish music and dance.
Producer of the show Jack Kearney said audiences would be "toe tapping from start to finish" through the performance.
"The show aims to continue the vibrant Celtic tradition through song and dance whilst contributing to the Irish story...the cast is a true melting pot of nationalities, featuring Australians, New Zealanders, Irish, English and Americans."
Kearney said he first got involved in Irish dancing at the age of 10 after his brother watched Riverdance on DVD.
"My brother and I come from rugby backgrounds and had fairly sporty childhoods. He attended his first Irish dancing class after watching the DVD and I attended not long after and we've been at it ever since."
He said Irish dancing was so appealing due to its blend of "musicality, grace, power and artistic expression."
A Taste Of Ireland is on at the Civic Theatre in Invercargill on Tuesday night. Tickets are available HERE
