Invercargill police are seeking help from the public as they continue investigations into an incident in Invercargill in the weekend.
Around 4:40pm on Saturday, a 19-year-old man presented to Southland Hospital with four gunshot wounds to his back.
He has undergone surgery and remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
As part of inquiries Police conducted a search warrant at a Tweed Street address where the incident is believed to have occurred, and a number of items of interest were located.

Police believe the incident could be gang-related and are working to speak further with the victim.
Since the incident on Saturday there has been an increased Police presence in the area.
Police are seeking information from any member of the public who may have noticed anything unusual or suspicious in the area of the eastern end of Tweed Street on Saturday afternoon, around 4-5pm.
