Invercargill Police make arrests following ram raids

Police have arrested another two men, aged 18 and 23, in relation to two ram raids in Invercargill earlier this month.

Windsor Street shop Find My Way and Dee Street's True Grit were both allegedly burgled on Monday, 15 August.

Police arrested an 18-year-old last week and have now made two further arrests.

Both men are due to appear in the Invercargill District Court today on charges of theft of a motor vehicle and burglary.

The 18-year-old also faces additional charges in relation to an aggravated robbery on Centre Street on 17 August, a ram raid on Bill Richardson Drive and a number of charges in relation to the theft of motor vehicles used in this spate of offending.

Through enquiries made into these incidents, a 19-year-old man was also arrested and charged with a number of offences relating to motor vehicles and theft in Christchurch and Invercargill.

A Subaru Impreza stolen earlier in the day was also recovered from his address.

He is due to appear in the Invercargill District Court today.

"Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in these enquiries and want to reassure the public that those committing such crimes will be held to account," a police media statement reads.

"No one else is being sought in relation to the incidents on Dee Street and Windsor Street."
