A death is being treated as unexplained, after a man's body was found near the intersection of Sydney Street and St Andrew Street in Invercargill yesterday morning (19 May).

Police were called to the scene at 9:25am.

Police have since completed a scene examination, but their inquiries are ongoing.

A post-mortem will be held on Tuesday.
