Invercargill born and bred, Will Thomas AKA Will Power, overcame the ultimate odds at Southern Pro Wrestling’s biggest show of the year, the ‘Southern Rumble’ on Saturday night (7th August).
In front of a sold out hometown crowd, Will Power pinned the undefeated SPW New Zealand Champion, ‘The Big Man’ Jamie Tagataese to capture the gold and break the undefeated streak that lasted for just under a year.
Will was trained and started his professional wrestling career in Invercargill at the SPW Training School.

He now travels around New Zealand performing.
This was the 6th year since the ‘Southern Rumble’ was established in Invercargill, and has been a mainstay event ever since, with fans travelling from around the country to check out the biggest show of the year in New Zealand professional wrestling.
The night also saw a 20 man over the top rope ‘Southern Rumble’ match, with the winner, K9, earning himself a shot at the SPW New Zealand Championship at the next SPW event ‘Halloween Haunting’ scheduled for Sat 30th Oct.
