An assault and motor vehicle theft in Invercargill yesterday (15 Nov) are gang related, according to Police.
The assault and theft of a motor vehicle occured at an address on Janet Street and resulted in an injured man from the address being taken to Southland Hospital.
Police were subsequently notified of a second incident around Ness and Dalrymple Streets, where a vehicle had been rammed.
Police said that following the ramming, an occupant from one of the vehicles struck a second vehicle with a weapon.
The vehicles involved were believed to be a light green Ford Falcon station wagon and a dark blue Subaru station wagon.
Police are following strong lines of enquiry in relation to these two incidents.
Both incidents are gang-related and that those involved are known to each other, they said.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed these incidents and has not yet spoken to Police.
