Invercargill Airport (IAL) has appointed Southlander Todd Dallard as its new project manager.
Dallard gained his building apprenticeship in Invercargill, before working in the construction industry in the Australian outback.
In 2012 he returned to New Zealand and started his own Invercargill based residential construction company.
Dallard's new role will see him not only responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the airport, but also implementing planned and future growth across the airport.
This will include a planned terminal extension - due to the ongoing success of scheduled services to and from Auckland, creating new ground support facilities for Air New Zealand, and refurbishing rental car facilities and hangars.
Dallard said he was really looking forward to the role.
“The airport is a well-known and well-used place, I grew up coming here and so it feels very special to be working here.”
“Invercargill airport is a key piece of infrastructure for Southland, and if the airport is doing well, Southland is doing well,” Dallard said.
IAL Chief Executive Stuart Harris is delighted to have Todd join the team.
“IAL is driving further growth at the Airport to better serve Southland’s needs."
"Todd will be highly valuable in delivering this growth, with his deep understanding of the building industry, and his willingness to deal with multiple complex projects.”
