The Invercargill City Council has today opened consultation on its proposed Rates Postponement Remission Policy (which incorporates a special scheme offering relief to ratepayers impacted by pandemics or natural disaster), and its Fees and Charges.
The council is proposing a new scheme to support people experiencing financial hardship as a result of epidemics, pandemics and natural disasters. It is proposed that this new scheme will be included within a new combined Rates postponement and remissions policy, which will replace the existing separate policies.
Feedback is also being sought on the Fees and Charges for 2020/21
Members of the public are invited to share their views on both documents before 5pm on May 29.
