The Mataura River is now in High River Watch status alongside the Waiau River.

Please see our latest monitoring data:

• The Mataura River at Fairlight Station was 1.5 metres above normal and rising 320 mm/hour.
• The Waiau River at Sunnyside was 3.9 metres above normal and rising 128 mm/hour.
• The Waiau River at Clifden was 2.56 metres above normal and rising 72 mm/hour.
• The Waiau River at Tuatapere was 2.28 metres above normal and rising 15 mm/hour.
• The Waiau River at Manapouri Structure Tailwater was 3.11 metres above normal and rising 56 mm/hour.

Our hydrology team are closely monitoring river levels with the possibility of more sites going into High River Watch status.
