Gore Police have arrested a patched Mongrel Mob member after reports that he was allegedly carrying a firearm.

Area Response Manager Acting Senior Sergeant Mike Ungerer said officers had located and arrested the offender without incident and firearm and ammunition had been recovered.

“Police are committing to preventing potential harm in our community and will act fast to ensure the community is safe,” Ungerer said.

“As a result, we have one less firearm in the hands of someone who has no business having one.”

A 31-year-old is due to appear in Gore District Court today (13 May) charged with unlawful possession of a pistol and unlawful possession of ammunition.
