Poppy aways said that: "This is the traditional month to plant cucumbers, pumpkin, courgettes, corn, chilli, capsicum, coriander, basil, dwarf and runner beans.
WHATS HAPPENING
We have had some really warm day temperatures this week but the nights are still a wee bit on the cool side...
Some plants will not like the cooler nights, just like us!
This has been the week for corn, courgettes & pumpkins to go in.
Tomatoes are about at their peak although we still have a good selection if you need some replacements or want to try something different.
Chocolate Sprinkles Cherry is worth a space in the tunnelhouse.
There are a few other small cherry varieties that are proving to be popular.
Sunrise, Bumblebee, Blueberries & the Tumbling Tom red & yellow varieties that are good for pots or hanging baskets.
Russian Red is a stronger dwarf type that is suitable for outdoor growing.
We sell all our pots as singles @ $3.99 each or 4 for $15.00 if you want to try one of each.
There is plenty of colour around at the moment.
Geraniums & Begonias (bedding) are in flower.
For gardens the Petunias are ready and there are still a few Pansies in flower as well.
A new batch of Lavenders have come ready.
Grosso & Pacific Blue are English varieties that are good for hedging.
We have some potted Lillies in bud that are looking as if they will flower soon.
A NEW rose has just arrived from our flower carpet breeders: SHOWPIECE BERRY... It is disease resistant and fragrant.
Strawberry plants are in BIG demand.
There is a good crop of strong plants in flower ready to start fruiting in the very near future.
Beans are proving to be popular this year.
We have 8 different varieties, climbers, dwarf green, yellow, purple, stringless & broadbeans to name a few.
Some of these would be a great addition to your garden.
Plenty of capsicums & chilli's.
We have the Caroline Reaper which is supposed to be one of the hottest in the world... Cucumbers are plentiful also..
The wee Lebanese are a great snack for the kids or lunchboxes and the Telegraph is a good long one great for salads and sandwiches.
BEST PERFUME at the moment would have to be Rhododendrons especially Princess Alice and the Viburnums.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING
Lawn mowing, weeding and watering are high demand jobs now.
Planting new plants is also a great highlight especially watching things grow and waiting on the harvesting
Cauliflowers planted during lockdown will be ready now.
Watch out for pests & diseases.
There is always something happening in the garden.
Don't forget to bring in your own bags or boxes. Or purchase one of our baskets for $5.00.. Renew & recycle. Yours to keep for future purchases.

WHATS NEW THIS WEEK
To Nature Bird Free Gel
Pre-Dosed with Bird Free Repellent gel, these dishes are a specially designed, discreet unit to be hung up on tree branches.
How they work:
The Bird Free Repellent Gel reacts with sunlight; giving off a vapour which is only visible to things which can see ultraviolet light, such as birds.
The resulting vapours appear as a bright flame to birds, which are naturally afraid of fire.
Under most weather conditions each dish will last up to 6 months.
