WHAT'S HAPPENING
It has been all go at both branches over Labour Weekend.
The weather really played ball with some awesome heat and a wee bit of overnight rain.
Most gardeners will have their plots planted out by now and the early gardeners will be bandicooting their potatoes.
Tomatoes have taken off this week flowering and setting fruit.
If you have not got any as yet come in and see our large selection.
Grafted, hybrid, and all sizes from a cherry to the large beefsteak.
All colours as well from yellow, black, white & red.
You can buy little single pots to the large single pots to 6 packs to the tumbling tom varieties & the heritage varieties.
We also have The Vining tomato and every plant you buy we donate to the charitable hospital.
Vege plants have been selling well.
The 1st crop of lettuce and cauliflowers will be coming ready so now is the time to replant.
Peas and beans are flowering while other plants will be going to seed like the silverbeet, spinach & parsley.
These are prone to bolt at this time of the year.
Time to sow small seeds.
Carrots, parsnip & white stone turnip are good to go in now.
Corn is another favourite to plant.
We have good plants that will establish quickly.
They will need their own space as they grow tall and are deep rooted.
Plenty of herbs available.
Basil has found the right temperature to grow now.
Flower plants are ready to go out.
There is a good selection of petunias, marigolds, pansies & lobelia.
Now is a good time to pot up your hanging baskets and get them established before hanging them.
Plenty of potted colour about.
Geraniums, daisies and a good selection of carnations.
A new batch of lemons has just arrived in.
Seed potatoes are still in demand but many varieties are now sold out.
There is limited supply of Desiree, Nadine & Agria and these will be the last varieties available.
Courgettes & cucumbers are ready to go.
We have grafted some cucumbers this year onto a melon rootstock.
Come in and get 1 if you are interested in something a little different.
