WHATS HAPPENING

Some good temperatures this week....Enough to get the sprinklers out and sort out irrigation systems.

We have a really good selection of hoses, connections, timers, soak hoses, watering cans to name a few.

The shop xmas tree is up!!!!

I know it is a wee bit early but the Saturday shop staff couldn't wait.

We have some potted xmas trees for sale.

They are not overly large but will last a few years if you look after them. 

Our gift shop is fully stocked if you want to have a wee look at Tweed Street but vouchers are always a winner in my book.

Indoor plants are proving to be very popular at the moment.

We have grown some of our own this year and they are flying out the door.

Great gift idea!

We have pots and potting mix to keep potting them on as they grow.

And indoor plant food to make them grow!!!

BEST COLOUR at the moment are Pelargoniums.

Bedding Begonias are also in full flower and some carnation & lavenders just starting to flower...



Seed potatoes are still selling well as people dig their 1st crops.

You need to replant now... There are still Agria, Desiree, & Nadine left.

Vege plants are being replanted as well as the 1st crops are being harvested.. (like the peas & beans.)

Corn is worth a go in the garden but just make sure they are well staked as wind can be a problem.

I hope everyone's gardens survived last weekends wind ok?

Plenty of good strawberry plants for sale and a new crop of berry fruit has arrived in.

It's a great time to start a berry patch but you will need bird netting or the birds may get them all before you do.

Now is the time to spread fertiliser round...

The acid lovers Rhodo's & Camellias are flushing growth and need a good feed after flowering.

The fruit trees have set fruit now and will need some potash.

The roses are about to burst into flower.

We have a specialized fertilizer for every crop!!



WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING

Mowing lawns & treating the weeds in the lawns.

Weed spraying or cultivating is the best option.

Water & fertilise everything that needs it now.

There is ALOT of growth on now and plants are healthier and more pest resistant when fed.

Seaweed is a good option. 

BE VIGILANT on pests. 

          Don't forget to bring in your own bags or boxes. Or purchase one of our baskets for $5.00.. Renew & recycle. Yours to keep for future purchases.
