WHATS HAPPENING
The weather has turned to wintery conditions this week.
Cool temperatures, heavy rainfall and even snow to some parts of the country.
This is not what summer is supposed to be like!!
The early gardens will have been harvested.. potatoes, peas, beans, carrot etc so now is the time to put some new crops in for the autumn.
We have a good range of vegetable seedlings ready for planting now.
Plenty of cabbage, cauli, broccoli, silverbeet, to name a few.
You can still plant a carrot, whitestone turnip & radish now which will mature before winter.
We have a small amount of bunched leeks left (barerooted).
Only 2 rows left in Granny's garden so be in quick for your bunch.
We only have Agria potatoes left for sale now as well for anyone needing any more..
Plenty of colour in the shops at the moment.
Begonias are at their best.
Tuberous in single pots and bedding in 6 packs.
There is a new batch of annual flower plants that have come down to the shop from out the back.
All grown on site!!!
Petunias, Lobelias, both great for pots or baskets.
Flower beds may need a bit of replenishing after the recent rough weather.
Some Marigolds ready in yellow & gold colours, great for borders and they stand up to the wind and rain.
We have Queen Anne's Lace and Nigella for something different.
There are some single pot Geraniums and Delphiniums.
Dianthus, Daisies, & Heucheras are some new perennials in store.
We have a new line of Lavenders as well. Blue Spear, Violet Intrigue, & Castilliano White.
Hydrangeas are looking good after all the rain.
They actually prefer a cool damp site especially on the south side of the house.
Blue and red shades depend on the acidity of your soil but white should always stay white.
Herbs will need a cut back before they go into flower and then to seed when the conditions become hot and changeable again.
We have a very good selection so you could even get some new plants in before the winter.
It is a good time to plant now we have had a good drop of rain especially shelterbelts.
The ground is still warm and plants will establish roots quickly.
Our 1L pot range is excellent for shelterbelts.
Small plants with strong roots.
A good variety of natives, hedging & shelter.
10% discount for 10 plants plus and a 20% discount for over 50 plants.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING

Canny Collar
The best collar to stop dogs pulling on the lead.
Kind, safe and effective
‣ Controls from behind the head
‣ Does not ride into the eyes
‣ Does not jerk your dog’s head
Easy to fit, simple to use
It's as easy as fitting your dogs regular collar.
We use a standard, nickel-plated steel buckle and pin fitting for greater security and a simple line of high quality webbing to control your dog’s head.
There are no complicated instructions, just fit it and go!
Training, not restraining
The Canny® Collar can train your dog to walk on a simple collar and lead with no pulling.
By moving the slip line on and off your dog’s nose as required, you can gradually teach him not to pull at all, even when he feels nothing on his nose.
You can leave it on when off lead
No need to take the Canny® Collar off when letting your dog run free – simply use the carabiner clips to fasten the slip line underneath your dog’s chin (snout) and away he goes.
