Run in conjunction with the Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic is the Cruise Milford 2020 Take a Kid Fishing competition aimed at encouraging children under 12 to give fishing a go. It will be held at McGregor’s Pond, from 7.30am till 6pm Saturday 24 October. The pond is stocked with fish before the competition, giving children the best chance to bag a fish. In addition there will be some spot prizes given away at the pond.
Experienced anglers will be available on Saturday to assist the budding fishers and show them fishing techniques. Please note: Take a Kid Fishing is on Saturday only this year and no rods will be given away.
A colouring competition will be run for children in three age groups: 4 years and under, 5 – 7 year olds, and 8 years & over. All children welcome. Entry forms available on the Te Anau Events website.
Registration for both the main event and the Take a Kid Fishing is at Te Anau Rugby Club and begins at 2pm on Friday 23 October. Note: There will be NO registration at Manapouri Lakeview Motor Inn this year.
For specific registration and weigh-in times and locations please refer to the Te Anau Events website.
Please note that no entries will be taken on Sunday. However, if you have pre-entered, you can still pick up your weigh cards on Sunday at the Te Anau Rugby Club Rooms during weigh in.
