A fire in the laundry at the Distinction Luxmore Hotel in Te Anau this morning is "not suspicious" a A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said.

Two appliances from Te Anau were sent to the fire at 8.10am, with additional units requested from both Mossburn and Manapouri.

FENZ shift manager Lyn Crosson said the fire was confined to the laundry area of the hotel and understands it didn't spread any further.

The Mossburn unit was stood down shortly after arriving, with the fire being extinguished at 8.45am.

Crews remained on the scene to investigate and departed the scene at 9.30am.
