One person has died following a serious crash, involving a single vehicle, on Charlton Siding Road, Waimumu, Gore last night (5 Apr).

Police said the crash was reported to them at around 10pm on Saturday night.

The sole occupant of the vehicle was located deceased at the scene.

The road remains closed while the Serious Crash Unit conduct a scene examination.

Police inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
