Exciting opportunity for an outgoing character with a passion for people and the outdoors to join our Stewart Island Experience team showcasing our iconic kiwi and other wildlife to our customers.

About the Role

How often do you get the chance to showcase the beautiful native fauna and flora of an island, introducing and educating our visitors on the wildlife that inhabit the island and ensuring they have an experience not only will they want to return to, but share with their family and friends.

Working with an amazing team in an amazing location, no day will be the same.

Not only will you be providing a unique experience as their host and nature guide, we'll upskill you to ensure you can drive them around the island too.

As part of this role you will:

·      Guide small groups of people at night in the hopes of seeing Kiwi

·      Deliver daytime tours to the pristine forest covered Ulva Island

·      Drive and deliver village and bay small coach tours informing on the history and environment of Stewart Island

·      Crew on vessels

·      Provide top customer service and activity information at our visitor centre

·      Have manaakitanga central to all you deliver

·      Act as a kaitiaki for our environment

Skills & Experience

·      Proactive communicators, previous guiding experience would be ideal;

·      Those who can anticipate customers' needs and optimise sales opportunities;

·      Most importantly - a lively team player who enjoys doing what's required to ensure a remarkable customer experience;

·      A full, clean NZ Driver’s Licence is essential;

·      Passenger endorsement and class 2 licence is preferable.
