More than 100 pieces of traditional and contemporary embroidery are on display at Gore's Eastern Southland Gallery until the end of the month.
The popular biennial presentation features work developed over the past two years by members of the Eastern Southland Embroiderers' Guild.

They use a wide variety of techniques and media, from cross stitch and hardanger, through to stump work and crewel (wool). Included are framed pieces, work boxes, needle cases, pin cushions, bags, cushions and a variety of mats.
The Guild meets twice a month and holds regular workshops for members with invited embroidery tutors from outside the region.
The exhibition is open Monday to Friday 10am – 4.30pm, Weekends 1-4pm, until 29 August. Admission is free.
