The roles

Our multi-day Discovery Expeditions take you on an exploration of Fiordland or Stewart Island and offer an insight into the world as it once was; raw, pristine and largely uninhabited.

We have two vacancies at present:

Chef

As Chef on board our purpose-built vessel, you'll be in sole charge of the galley.

Each day you will have up to 32 guests on board who you will be preparing and serving exceptional meals for; including morning and afternoon teas.

This is a demanding role and you'll need to be a great all-rounder as you'll be creating everything from bread to desserts and our Discovery Expeditions are famous for their delicious and plentiful home-cooked meals as well as being immersed in isolated wilderness!

Supervisor Passenger Services

As Supervisor Passenger Services you will be responsible for ensuring the overnight cruise operation runs smoothly for up to 32 guests on board.

You will be training and leading the team to ensure guest experience is continuously delivered at an exceptional level.

Both are permanent positions which will see you working a roster of 14 days on, 14 days off which provides you with a unique opportunity to work and play hard in this beautiful part of the world.

You'll be based on board the vessel for your days on; with your own accommodation provided.

You'll be working and living with the rest of the crew including a Launch Master, Mate, Nature Guide and Crew.

Who are we looking for?

We're after someone with a passion for, people and the outdoors.

The most important thing to us is attitude - we're looking for a positive team player with a proven work ethic who doesn't mind working hard to ensure a remarkable guest experience.

We're also looking for someone with the following:

×        Previous catering and food handling experience, including pastry chef skills for the Chef role

×        Previous experience in hospitality and leading a team for the Supervisor Passenger Services role

×        Proven ability to work in a team - you'll be living and working on board for 14 days at a time so this is essential

×        Strong communication skills

×        Some previous maritime experience would be beneficial (but not essential - we'll provide everyone with full training before they start)
