Fire crews have battled a house fire on the outskirts of Invercargill this afternoon.
Four appliances and two tankers attended the the fire on Avon Road in Tisbury after the call came through at 2.19pm, with the fire “well involved” when crews arrived.
Invercargill Fire Senior Station Officer Aaron Ramsey said there was a large amount of smoke when they arrived on the scene.
He said everybody was out of the house and crews had to rely on water from the tankers due to no hydrants being near the property.
