The Central App is Central Otago’s one stop shop for all your local information needs with topical news items, local stories, reports, links to retail, hospitality, trades, community services, and real estate. Everything in one place!

• Reporter x 1 Employed 20 hours a week or Full time option available.
• Reporter x 2 Contractors. Flexible hours ( 5 - 20 hours a week)
• Contributors - Those who are living in our community and have a flair for writing. Living in the Teviot Valley or Maniototo preferred.

Central App is blazing the way to the future with online content that’s real, informative, and focused on local interest. We are about enhancing our community and the lives of those who live here.

The successful candidates will:

Collect and analyse information about newsworthy events

Receive assignments

Evaluate news leads

Using integrity and impartiality, you will:

Verify facts

Conduct interviews

Undertake research

Provide articles and content in a professional, clear, and concise manner

You will also be responsible for developing constructive relationships with community groups and providers including police, emergency services and community leaders.

With instant publishing access, you’ll have the ability to break stories and stay at the forefront of developments.
