Welcome to another exciting year at Winton School.
2021 has started off well with students and staff getting back into the swing of things.
To end 2020 we celebrated the completion of our new mural at the end of Room 11.
We were disappointed to not be able to unveil this at our Jubilee Celebration, but we are very happy with how it looks..
It is an excellent representation of how our school has changed over time.
We have made the most of the settled weather and managed to hold both our junior and senior athletics days, with a slight shuffle due to Covid levels.
Our younger students displayed great effort during their athletics afternoon, with all doing their best and having fun.
The following week we held our school athletics and it was pleasing to see how well our athletes performed.
We wish all of our Southland Athletics competitors the best for this upcoming competition.
Alongside athletics, a number of senior students enjoyed participating in the Southland Triathlon championships.
Inside the classroom there have been lots of exciting learning activities happening.
A number of our senior children have attended technology and learned a number of new skills.
Students have been getting to know each other and their teacher.
They have also been exploring the relationships in the class and setting goals that relate to our learner muscles.
The senior school is beginning their new leadership roles, with a special assembly being held to recognise these students.
During the remainder of the term we have many things coming up.
This includes our Year 5 Pukerau and Year 6 Queenstown camps.
After Easter we are holding our learner conferences which is a great way for the children to share three learning goals..
