CLASS ACTION: Wallacetown School

Welcome to Term 2!

It was great to be back out on the gate on Monday 3rd May and see everyone’s smiling faces as they arrived!

We had a busy term planned with classes starting to look at Fire Safety, Cross Country, we’ve entered a team for the Young Einstein’s Quiz, Dr Sue Galloway is going to come and work with the Year 4-6 students and the preparation is underway for our Polyfest Art Entry!

This term we welcomed the following students and their families to Wallacetown School: Billy, William, Myla, Ryder, Marco, and Hunter.

We hope they enjoy being part of the Wallacetown whānau and everything we offer as a school.

We also welcome Megan Tait as a new Teacher Aide.

   Billy Room 2

        Marco Room 4

William

Ryder Room 2

At the end of term 1 we farewelled Tracey McLennan, thank you to everyone who came along to the farewell assembly, she will be missed, but we will see her in Clyde no doubt!

In Week 2 we started off our week with a visit from Ben, Steve and Vanessa from the Wallacetown Volunteer Fire Brigade as we started this term looking at Fire Safety in each of the classes.

One of the questions Ben asked when we were outside was “Do you have smoke alarms in your house?”

No doubt over the week this was one of the questions the children asked their families - as they were studying Fire Safety topic.

Cross Country -This is happened on Friday 28 May at Hedgehope.

We were so proud of the Children’s efforts running through the mud and wet grass, and not giving up.

They all deserve a gold medal!

We had 10 Students Qualify for Central Cross Country in Dipton for June 11th.

Good luck to them!

On Friday the 4th of June we were lucky to have Kylie coming to take us for Zumba!

We had such a great afternoon learning some new moves!

If you didn’t see the video we shared in assembly this is up on our Facebook Page.

A huge thanks to Amanda for organising this, the kids had a great time!

This gave us a chance to test out the sound system outdoors – I am sure the neighbours wondered what was going on!
