Lockdown
Home hosting; the mess that has been created.
Mum worries as she runs around after Jorja and I.
Dad stressed and concerned about what the future holds.
Boredom fades as I sit there wondering what to do next.
Tokanui quiet; no cars, no tourists, only the bellowing sound of tractors.
Supermarkets are airy and quiet.
Worry as we live in fearful and uncertain times.
Loneliness visited as they announced more days without my friends and more days without horses.
Laughter awakens as positive memories come to mind.
Scruff excited and keen to have everyone home.
Grandparents are concerned for their health.

My Lockdown
Fat cows eating baleage in the paddock.
Stupid cat killing mice by the dozen.
Fast dog working the sheep and cattle.
Wet farm making mud constantly.
Big house getting messy from Phoenix's toys.
Old tractor breaking down all the time.
Shiny chainsaw burning fuel and cutting wood.
New motorbike getting dirty.
Younger sibling annoying me non-stop.
Happiness coming and going like lightning.
Metre after metre of fencing around the river.
Lockdown was good because you got lots done on the farm.
There were no distractions and I got lots done in not much time.
That was my lockdown.

Lockdown
Lonely bunny hopping crazily around her tiny cage.
Soft bed growing warmer as my cat rests peacefully on it.
Intense happiness spreading throughout the house because of no school.
Quiet laughter fading as time slowly goes by.
Cold bikes run along the long steep frosty gravel road.
Happy cat loving all the loving attention.
Scared siblings becoming more anxious to go back to school.
Calming relaxation running out as school lurks closer.
Uncontrollable excitement kicking in because we finally get to go places.
Bored cousins yelling crazily for us to hurry up.
Frosty trampoline sitting in the cold windy weather.

Jack and Jeremy Robinson asked their Great Grandma about school days in her day and she gave them her school books to look at.
Lockdown
Messy home, waiting to be cleaned
Boring siblings annoying me with their words.
Animals having a ball running around.
Mum stressed and busy.
Dad was stressed and tired.
Town empty, starting to get busy.
Boredom crept in; nothing to do.
Happiness visited when people start to get better.
Peace around me making me smile.
Sadness sneaking in when people were passing away.
Lockdown was challenging to stay in.
Not allowed to see all my family and friends.
It was fun to do school work at home.
I got to spend more time with my mum, dad, and sister.
I loved that.
