Celebrating Southland Schools

Our akonga have been learning all about our history and our local area.
This has included the history of Maori in our area and European Pioneers.
This has all come under the umbrella of Ki Uta Ki Tai, From the Mountains to the Sea.
This unit incorporates history but all how we are connected to the area and what resources are here.
Students have been involved in a forest regeneration programme and helped with local eel relocation.
This unit has given us all (teachers included) a stronger understanding of our local environment.
