Our Year 1 and 2 tamariki have been researching sailing and in particular wind and floating.
They have looked at boats and sails to see what makes them float and move.
Using the skills they learnt they have designed and built boats.
They then tried them out in our school pool (with a fan as wind).
The designs worked amazingly!
The next step in their thinking is to look at what alterations they would make to make them better.
It was sharp, next time I would turn my sail around - Sam
Next time I would make my sail a bit bigger - Regan
Next time I would put more stabilisers on - Rya
Next time I would put another mast on to stop my sail folding up - Gus
