Mercy Cross
Alongside our students and the teaching team we have recently recreated our CHASERS wall in the school office area.
Miss McSoriley has kindly painted a Mercy cross for the centre of our display.
Our children feature in images that show our Mercy values of Compassion, Hospitality, Service, Excellence, Respect and Social Justice in action.
We have also added QR codes which once scanned will take you to a gospel story that highlights our values.
As you know our CHASERS values are at the centre of everything we do at St Thomas’s, we use these as a foundation for our behaviour plan, positive behaviours matrix and positive reinforcement.
Golf Ball Drop
Recently we had our major school fundraiser for the year, our Golf Ball Drop that took place on Friday 26th March.
Huge efforts were made by many of our community members, I thank you for supporting this fundraiser in order to achieve better outcomes for all of our students.
We know that the funds raised will make a huge difference in providing our children with support and extension programmes that meet their learning needs.
I realise that we and all other schools are in the position of not gaining adequate funding for many of our students which is hugely disappointing.
I will say that I am hugely proud and grateful to be leading a school community that takes matters into their own hands by putting their children front and centre in creating funds which will ultimately give our students all the learning opportunities they need to succeed.
Year 5&6 Camp
All of our students at St Thomas Aquinas School get the opportunity to experience outdoor camps whether you are a junior or senior student.
This year our students have the amazing opportunities to visit Camp Omaui, Camp Columba, Deep Cove Camp & Camp Tautuku.

School Re-Development
Our school has been undergoing a major transformation of late.
We are extremely grateful to the Catholic Diocese of Dunedin who are working alongside their contractors to refurbish the school.
Our children have been extremely resilient whilst working in their temporary spaces.
But don't the new classrooms & verandah look fantastic.
