We have been busy at Myross Bush School this term.
Our Inquiry focus has been on different types of transport.
The classes have focused on either transport on the land, on the water or in the air.
To kick start our learning we had a visit from a number of people with their transport options.
We were grateful to have so many people in our community brought a wide variety of transport along for us to look at, climb on and ask questions about.
Each space has learnt about motion and forces before creating their own form of transport, testing their creations and tweaking designs.
These were then displayed in our Activity Center where parents and whānau could check out our creations and read about what we found out.
We have recently held our annual sports exchange with Makarewa School.
This exchange focuses on three games - Netball, Rugby and a challenge sport chosen by the host school.
Makarewa hosted us this year and they chose Ki O Rahi.
Our Year 6 students participated in the games.
Netball was a close battle where teams were goal for goal throughout the game.
Makarewa came away with the win and received the Collinson Trophy this year.
Rugby was next with some great running, excellent tackling and many smiles.
Myross Bush came away with the win and kept the Rutledge Shield for the year.
Ki O Rahi was the final game where skill and strategy were used by both teams.
It was great to see sportsmanship throughout the game.
Myross Bush came away with the win at the final whistle.
It is wonderful to get together with Makarewa School and share in our passion for sports.
We look forward to hosting Makarewa in 2025, where I am sure there will be some more exciting games.
Next term we look forward to developing our cultural abilities through the Arts.
We will be taking to the stage at the Civic Theatre for our school production.
We look forward to sharing some highlights around this next time.
