Celebrating Southland Schools
07 December 2020, 9:41 PM
It’s December and what a year it has been for our wonderful wee school.
It was exciting to see us reach over 100 students this year, certainly something to celebrate!
Lochiel School's new playground
Our new playground officially opened on Friday, 4 December, with our next project creating a bike park for our students.
The ordered bikes are slowly arriving into the country now for this.
George and Blair practising their life saving skills
Kalia-Rose and Imogen in the Life Boat
Surf lessons
We have had a lot of exciting day trips this term - surf lessons at Riverton, Beach Education at Oreti Beach and next Tuesday our four houses are celebrating their successes.
Cameron House are going to the Gore MultiSports Complex completing Swimming and Ice Skating.
Important rules to remember when at the beach
Elderslie House are venturing to Invercargill to ‘Jump and Fun’ and then having pizza and hot chips at Queens Park.
Forest Hill are being joined by some local sporting personalities, hiring some awesome activities and eating some yummy food on the school grounds and McNeil House are going to Splash Palace and then to the movies!
This is to celebrate all of their hard work over the year, and it’s great to see what they have earned!
Our School production, What’s New Pussycat, was celebrated last week by holding a red carpet event at Centrestage.
Students and Parents relished the chance to view the production on the big screen.
Gwen Chalmers played Puss N Boots
Joshua and Alexis as the King and Queen being looked after by the Doctor (Osker) and nurse (Olivia)
Princess(Milly) and Harry (Angus)
The Troll (Narzyna) and Witch Winiford (Olivia)
Celebration is a theme in Term 4 and we are hugely proud of our students and staff and their successes over the year!
We wish everyone a fantastic Christmas and New Year.
