Celebrating Southland Schools

Looking back on our last class action, Wharerā students have been busy with many varied learning opportunities.
At the end of July two bus loads of students and parents went to Dunedin to support the team in the FIFA World Cup.
It was an amazing experience for our children.
We have also had two performances during term 3 and the start of term 4.
Our whole school performed at Polyfest, and in the beginning of term 4 each student performed twice during our show.
This performance was a term's work which saw the children look into what makes a performer and choose a skill that they wanted to learn.
It was a great night, both performances had amazing support from our school whānau and wider community.
To support Daffodil Day, children created art that was generously hung by Elles Road New World in their windows.
Senior students were also out and about collecting for the Cancer Society.
Our year 6 students also headed away to Camp Columba for two nights.
The first day was amazing weather, but the second saw rain, and more rain.
It didn't dampen anyone's spirits and they continued on with all their activities.
Everyone had a great time, and were completely exhausted.
On the 12th of November, South Alive holds a World Kindness Day.
Students at Wharerā baked biscuits to be given out.
Feedback from people said they were delicious!
