Deacon Kyan-Wilde of Central Southland College has earned a coveted spot at the 2025 National Shakespeare Schools Production (NSSP), hosted by Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand (SGCNZ).
The intensive workshop will take place in Wellington from 20 to 28 September and will culminate in two public performances featuring scenes from As You Like It, The Tempest, and Julius Caesar.
Kyan-Wilde is one of just 48 students selected from across Aotearoa New Zealand for this prestigious programme.
From this group, 24 will be chosen to join the 2026 Young Shakespeare Company, which will travel to the UK to perform on the iconic stage of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.
