A car flipped on to its roof in an accident in Invercargill this afternoon.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Kelvin and Yarrow Streets at 12.45pm.

It is believed two vehicles were involved in the incident, and a police spokeswoman confirmed all occupants were safely out of their vehicles.

The spokeswoman said they were assessed at the scene by St Johns Ambulance, with none being transported to hospital.

The intersection was blocked for about 30 minutes while emergency services and a tow truck cleared the scene.
