The Invercargill Licensing Trust (ILT) is releasing a special brew next month to celebrate its 75th birthday.
Crafted by Emerson’s Brewery, the pale ale has been produced to toast the ILT’s milestone.
ILT chief executive Chris Ramsay said designing a beer that adequately reflected the diversity of our city was "no easy task" but they had enjoyed the challenge.
Adding a personal twist, the organisation’s management team had a hands-on role during the production stage of the brewing process.
The brew will feature two different hops designed by the managers themselves, while the honour of naming the beer will go to ILT staff members.
The limited-edition beer will be available on tap at various ILT establishments from July.
Mr Ramsay said partnering with Emerson's Brewery was a great chance to work alongside a southern brewery and enlist their expertise to create a "really neat product."
“Craft beers are definitely not just regarded as a trend. They’re respected for the passion and individual elements which go in to make them distinctive. It’s been great to see their popularity increase in recent years.”
More initiatives were also planned in the coming months, he said.
