Big Glory Bay Salmon has been awarded a gold medal at the 2023 Outstanding New Zealand Food Producer Awards held last Thursday (16 Mar).

Sandford Group Marketing Manager, Emma Croft said she was ecstatic that their first ever fresh salmon retail product had been recognised like this.

"It was amazing to have the efforts of the entire team - farmers, supply chain, factory and all the way through to marketing - be recognised for all the over and above efforts we go to, to make our business sustainable and provide outstanding food. It’s so meaningful to us,” she said.

Judges described the Big Glory Salmon king salmon entry as “Very clean, sweet flavour. Fine texture and delicious”

The seafood packs have only recently been launched into New Zealand supermarkets.

Big Glory Bay was opened in 1993, and at 47˚ south, is considered one of the most remote aquaculture farms in the world.
