If you vote Noel for Invercargill Mayor or Councillor – what you will receive from me.

A full time Mayor or Councillor, working 24/7 for everyone, representing you and all of the Invercargill community, with a good understanding and respect for the wishes of the wider Invercargill community, good governance skills and the ability to promote and represent Invercargill on the regional, national, and world stage.

An Ambassador for Invercargill City & Southland, locally, regionally, nationally, and globally to the world, having contacts in every region, locally, nationally, and pretty much every nation on the planet, particularly in the areas of environmental sustainability, climate change, social community resilience, and business entities.

A strong voice in Central and local Government sectors, with the contacts, wisdom, maturity and experience, in fact 35 years of political experience, both from the outside and inside Local – Central Government (as a community good – environmental advocate making submissions and lobbying local central government over many years) all done with modern & forward thinking. Over the past 3 years as a Bluff Community Board member listening to and acting on what you the community have indicated are your wants and needs. Attending pretty much every public Invercargill city council meeting over the past 3 years, also many Environment Southland and Southland District Council meetings, reading policy and agendas, keeping abreast of what has happened in Southland councils, also speaking regularly with Members of Parliament and government department staff.

A forward-thinking Mayor with foresight and vision, supporting the development of green technology and industry, to bring employment, money, and certainty to Invercargill, futureproofing Invercargill, providing your needs and giving you certainty in the future being a strong vibrant Invercargill, with fairness and equity.

A mayor who takes the lead on effective governance management of the city, our infrastructure and finances. Planning to provide support for Manawhenua, the local business community, exporting and Southport, also community groups - their inspirations and needs, the development of Green Industry & Agritourism, a balanced well planned tourist sector that does not impinge on our community & environment, the SIT, particularly the Digital Technology sector, with a vision of making major block buster movies right here in Invercargill, and the SIT Environmental Education sector to create a healthy & wellbeing city environment, the Cultural, Arts & Museum sectors, sustainable communities, organic locally produced food, cottage industries, creating resilient communities who are based on the principles of localism.

Empowering you the people to have a voice in local government so you have a voice about what you want in your community in a democratic way, which will need the restructure of local government to occur, something I do wish to help guide and create over the next 3 years.

A mayor who promotes education, teamwork – working and walking together, tolerance, kindness, and understanding, resolving problems and challenges as they arise, who “plays the ball not the person” working with everyone with integrity and professionalism to get the best results for everyone – the whole community.

Planning to give back to the community what I gain, with the intention of exploring the option of creating a Mayoral fund at my own expense to give back to small community organisations in need of a helping hand.

A Mayor who is passionate about caring for and supporting people & community, who wishes to talk about a fairer Invercargill community for everyone.

After 5 years of planning & preparation, I am ready to “hit the ground running” with much already happening in what currently already do to support the Invercargill community as I am already working closely with the community, council and central government.
